Fed: Use existing law to withhold school funds: Nelson=3

Former coalition education minister Julie Bishop is wishing the government all the
best in dealing with the states and unions.

"The announcements that the government made yesterday were, in fact, a carbon copy
of the budget announcements I made in 2007," Ms Bishop told reporters.

Taking the policy to the states had not been "a picnic".

"So while the Rudd government has taken our policies, I wish him all the best in taking
on the education unions and the state Labor governments."
