SAP Melds Bill Capabilities.(Technology)(Brief article)

SAP AG said Thursday that it has introduced a product package to supply billing capabilities to telecommunications providers.

The German company said that its package, SAP Billing for Telecommunications, includes products for rating, charging, invoicing and financial management on a single platform.

The invoicing component, sold separately as SAP Convergent Invoicing, lets the Canadian company MTS Allstream Inc. devise a single invoice for customers who would have been billed separately for wireless, Internet and television.

"We transformed our billing environment to deliver a single, easy-to-understand bill to our customers--faster and cheaper than many other telecommunications companies in North America," Doug Pelland, MTS Allstream's director of solution management, said in a press release.
