Queensland Parliamentary sessions will be streamed live on the internet today.

It's the start of a 12-month experiment which Premier PETER BEATTIE hopes will improveaccess and lift the standards of the house.

The broadcast can be reached through the State Government's website -- and Mr BEATTIEsays he wants Queenslanders to let him know what they think through an online survey.

Mr BEATTIE says the trial broadcasts will also be used to determine whether a videocoverage of proceedings should be developed.

He says the immediacy of the internet broadcast should highlight the need for parliamentariansto uphold high standards of conduct.

Proceedings start at 9.40 am (AEST) at www.parliament.qld.gov.au.
