WA: Skeletal remains found in burnt out car

Human remains have been found in a burnt-out car in southern Western Australia.

Volunteer firefighters made the discovery after they put out a fire which had engulfed
a 1986 Mitisubishi station wagon about 11.30pm (WST) on Good Friday.

The firefighters were called to the area by a motorist who saw the car on fire on the
Frankland-Rocky Gully Road at Frankland, 336 kilometres south of Perth.

Albany detectives are treating the incident as suspicious and have asked anyone who
used the road on Good Friday or early on Saturday morning to come forward.

The human remains have been brought to Perth for a post mortem examination.
