Qld: Work for the dole Queensland style

Queensland Liberal leader DAVID WATSON has unveiled plans to introduce a state-based
work-for-the-dole scheme if a Coalition government is elected in two weeks' time.

Under the Coalition's Working for Queensland plan, the state would provide the resources
while the federal government pays the wages.

The state Liberal leader says the program would target places such as parklands which
would be cleaned up and trees planted and picnic areas built.

The federal government would provide unemployment benefits and a travel allowance --
